What will it cost to build?
Acorn Home, Deck House and the dwell home by Empyrean are architecturally designed houses and are very competitive with other truly custom houses. The typical price range starts at $250 per square foot, with the location of your site and the local economy affecting the overall cost. Other features that can impact the price include efficiency of the design, number of exterior decks, screened porches, garages, unfinished basement and other spaces that contribute to the overall cost of the house but not the square footage of heated living space, and other amenities you specify.
Our homes typically cost somewhat less than architecturally designed houses, but more than production houses. The quality of an Acorn Home, Deck House or the dwell home by Empyrean exceeds that of a conventionally built house made of locally supplied materials.
Since there are so many factors that affect the price, we prefer to meet with you to help assess your needs and provide an estimate that is tailored to your specific situation. Throughout the project we will give you updated comprehensive estimates to facilitate your decision making and minimize surprises.

What is included in the price?
The above price includes all of the home’s structural components - the materials that are necessary to complete a weather-tight shell - as well as all of the interior wood and trim components, (interior doors, stairs, railings, trim work, and cabinets). Also included is the cost of a local builder to frame and finish the house, plus allowances for flooring, appliances and light fixtures. The costs of the site itself and site improvements are not included.
In addition, the price of every one of our projects includes all of the Design, Preconstruction, Builder, and Owner Services that are provided with every Acorn Home, Deck House, or dwell home by Empyrean,.
